Since being named as the IIBA UK Business Analyst of the Year 2016 at the Business Analysis Europe Conference, Ian has been an ambassador for Business Analysis, working with authors and thought leaders to help influence the future shape of business analysis. Ian blends this with a secondary career of over 30 years in the British Army Reserves, currently holding the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2.
In this session, Ian will share his view on the British Army slogan, “British Army, Be the Best” and how that translates into the World of Business Analysis. A keen coach and mentor, Ian will share with you the importance of investing in your own professionalism and the importance of leadership of self and of others.

Who is Ian Richards?
Ian is the 2016 IIBA® UK Business Analyst of the Year, presented at the IRM Business Analysis Conference Europe and was honored to have judged the most talented UK Business Analysts for the 2018 and 2019 IIBA® UK Business Analyst of the Year competition.
He has been invited to judge at the UK IT Industry Awards 2020, has presented at the IRM Business Analysis Conference Europe 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and is delighted to be speaking at BA Istanbul 2020
Ian is a member of the BCS Business Analysis Leadership Panel, an examiner for the Chartered IT Professional status (CITP), and blends his Business Architecture and Business Analysis experience to work with a team of talented BAs as Director of Business Analysis at Capita.
He has been invited to judge at the UK IT Industry Awards 2020, has presented at the IRM Business Analysis Conference Europe 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and is delighted to be speaking at BA Istanbul 2020
