About Reydan Yaşar

Reydan Yaşar is currently a Development Manager at Sony GSI, delivering software development and maintenance services to Sony Group Companies in an interactive environment in Istanbul. Reydan has involved in several software development projects by performing business analysis and project management activities. Reydan has also taken Business Analysis Competency Lead responsibility at Sony and in September 2016, she earned CBAP certification.

Reydan has a B.Sc. degree from Boğaziçi University and M.Sc. from Istanbul Technical University. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Boğaziçi University, Management Information Systems Department.

Workshop: Behavior Driven Development

Today, software development is performed in fast-changing environments in order to meet shifting customer requirements with the added pressure of shorter time to market. Agile practices have been developed to encourage rapid and flexible response to change. Behavior Driven Development is an agile software development technique that increases the collaboration between developers, quality assurance analysts and non-technical or business participants of a project. This collaboration bridges the gap between what is required on the business end and what is possible on the development team end. The approach mainly focuses on the behavior, which creates more value by having more visible requirements and improved code quality.

In the first part of this workshop session, introduction to BDD, the benefits of applying the approach and BDD practice at Sony will be covered. Participants will have the chance to go over the Gherkin syntax with executable scenarios and practice BDD during the hands-on session.
