Who is Şirin Aktaş?

Şirin completed her undergraduate education at Hacettepe University Computer Science Engineering Department in 2000 and her master’s degree at Istanbul Technical University Computer Science Engineering Department in 2004. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Özyeğin University, Department of Technology, Society, and Design with her studies on “Digital Transformation in FMCG, Human Robot Interaction”.

Starting her career as a Network Engineer at Garanti Teknoloji, Aktaş worked at Koç.net as Presales, Project Management, Major Customer Management, Product Management, Application Architect at Turkcell and IT Manager at various levels and at Unilever an was responsible for 13 different countries. She is experienced in horizontal specializations. Şirin Aktaş currently serves as a member of Edenred Turkey, CIO and Turkey Board of Directors.

Şirin Aktaş, married with two children, volunteers to deliver science and technology in every part of society. In order to increase the place of women in technology, IDC voluntarily supports activities in communities such as Women in Technology, Women in Games, Future DahaNet, BizBizze. Likewise, she is involved in voluntary activities such as Science Heroes Association membership, First Lego League jury membership, Yenicarahori STEM Village Technology Consultancy and Digital Game Design and Coding trainer so that children can meet the world of science and technology earlier. She mentors young people in communities such as TOG, GDN, Embark and works to contribute to their growth as productive and sensitive world citizens with 21st century skills.
